Paid holidays
Seven · 2026Pioneer Day is the whole argument in one line. Any system with a built-in federal holiday list drops it silently, and the failure shows up as 155 people marked absent on a paid holiday. Your calendar is data.
Birthday day
One paid dayUsable only within the employee’s birth month, and it does not carry over. That makes it a leave type with a monthly window computed from a personal date — not an eighth holiday. Modelled as a holiday, it would give all 185 people the same day off.
How PTO works here
Who is eligible, and when
Holidays & birthday day| Position | Eligible after |
|---|---|
| Master electrician Journeyman electrician Office personnel |
60 days |
| Apprentice Laborer |
One year — or the day a journeyman licence is obtained, whichever comes first |
That second row is the interesting one, and most HR systems cannot express it: eligibility satisfied by a credential rather than by time served. An apprentice’s eligibility can change mid-year, on the day their licence is verified — so licence history and the leave record are both kept as dated events. “Was this person eligible on the Fourth of July?” is a question a wage dispute asks, and it has an answer.
No blackout dates
You have none, so none are configured. The capability stays in the product — the next contractor has a shutdown week — but nothing empty is shown to your people. Not configured and not supported are different things, and only the first is true here.
